Configuration of the EtherCAT bus can be accomplished offline (e.g.in the office with no physical connection to the plant) oronline.

When running in online mode one can either select to connect theConfigurator directly with the EtherCAT slaves (local mode) or toconnect it with the controller where the EtherCAT Master stack isrunning (remote mode). In the latter case, the EC-Master isproviding all necessary services the configurator needs.

Standard and Expert ViewThe "Standard View" provides all basicfunctions and settings required to create an EtherCATconfiguration.

Furter, less important parameters and options can be selected byswitching into the "Expert View".

Bus TopologiesThe Configuration Toolkit supports allavailable EtherCAT Topology variants: line, daisy-chain, star andstub.
