3-Methoxybutanol is used as a solvent or cosolvent in coatings, inks and adhesives. eg.nitrocellulose brush lacquers to improve brushability and flow, and in alkyd paints to improve brushability.
3-Methoxybutanol is used in conjunction with Butoxyl to achieve special effects through dissolving power, drying time and flow；
