QAD series three phase inductionmotors are designed manufactured to meet the most arduous serviceconditions. The motors are made using high quality materialsworkmanship. With proper maintenance these motors will consistentlyperform well even in the toughest conditions.

3.MechanicalDesign

Terminal boxes

Terminal boxes are mounted either onthe top, on either side of the motor. The terminal box of motorssizes 71 to 355 can be turned 4 x 90° to allow cable entry fromeither side. To enable the supply of suitable terminations fthemotor, please state cable type, quantity and

size whending. Polished outwardappearance

The external design of the motors isconsistent with the design of the ABB "M2000" family. The frame,cooling ribs, terminal box fan cover have been reshaped to meetcustomer's design preference.

4. ElectricalDesign

Minimum Noise Vibrationlevels

Careful attention to designmanufacturing details has allowed International Standards to becomfortably met.

Maximum Degrees of Protection All ABBmotors are protected to IP55 as a minimum. Higher levels ofprotection are available on request. Service Operating ConditionsQAD motors are designed to be insensitive to wide supply voltagefluctuations.

Class F insulation offers greaterreliablity security.

Standard motors have Class Finsulation, with a Class B temperature rise to offer morereliability security in operation, through increased thermalmargins. High Effciency QAD motors are designed fhigh effciency lowtemperature rise giving a long service life reduced runningcosts.
