This increased width further enhances applicability to printingsystems (e.g. Single-pass inkjet printers) that demand highproductivity.Printhead powerconsumption is reduced by 50% through the use of a new, highefficiency piezo actuator.KonicaMinolta piezo on-demand inkjet heads are already driven using lowervoltages than other inkjet heads and the new actuator used in theKM1024 reduces power consumption even further. This makes theprinthead ideally suited to "green" design and shows KonicaMinolta’s ongoing consideration for theenvironment.Increased grey-scalelevels produce richer tones and more subtle gradients making theprinthead even more attractive to existing and new printapplications.Equippedwith a new control IC, the KM1024 printhead can print up to amaximum of 8 drop sizes. This allows even greater control of theprinted image resulting in smoother colour gradients and moreprecisely matched tones.The ultra-slim, spacesaving printhead shape improves print quality and allows morecompact machine design.The KM1024printheads can be mounted very closely together minimising out ofalignment errors in the transport or traverse system. This improvesprint registration resulting in consistently higher quality print.As multiple printheads can be mounted in a smaller space it isoften possible to greatly reduce the length of the print pathresulting in an overall reduction in machinesize.
