Skywalker Xaar 128 TheSpectra Skywalker JA 128/50 jetting assembly has been designedspecifically to meet the exacting performance requirements of highproductivity, solvent based, wide format graphics printing. A totalof 128 individually accessible channels are driven from a singlepiezoelectric ceramic crystal, providing excellentchannel-to-channel uniformity. The nozzles are arranged in a singleline, at a 0.020-inch spacing, for maximum interlace flexibility.The jetting assembly design has been optimized for high dutycycleoperationup to 16kHz. The high drop velocity and excellent jet straightness minimizebanding artifacts. The Spectra Skywalker JA 128/50 jetting assemblyis easy to integrate into printer carriages. It incorporates anintegral mounting bezel molded out of a durable, chemically inertengineering plastic. Registration features enable easy alignment tothe carriage frame. The fluid interface is convenient and easy,through a female Luer Lock fitting. Two electrical connectors atthe top of the jetting assembly allow each channel to beindividually addressed. An optional Driver Chip Module reduces theelectrical interface requirements to two serial data streams andthe high voltage fire pulse usedto actuatethe pumping chambers. Numerous design features have beenincorporated topromote along service life, including a robust stainless steel nozzle plateand replaceable ink inlet filter. All static sensitive electronicsare located upstream of the jetting assembly, minimizing thelikelihood of electrical failures. The fluid interface ispositioned away from the jetting assembly housing to reduce thepossibility of contaminating the electricalcontacts.
