Model N2430GNSM Using Air gain’s patented technology, the Model N2430GNSMantenna provides a high performance, on-board antenna solution for Wi-Fi and ISMband applications. Application Guidelines andRecommendations The Model N2430GNS antenna incorporates a stable supportfootprint and through hole pin connections, simplifying use in new PCB designs. Airgainhas developed guidelines that should be followed to achieve the best performance from theModel N2430GNSM. These recommendations apply to both IEEE 802.11a/b/g and napplications. The Model N2430GNSM Reference Board PCB also implements theserecommendations. This evaluation tool is available through Airgain salesrepresentatives. 7.2 PCB Mounting The recommended layout of a design implementation is shownin Figure 6. N2430GNSM performance is fairly independent of its location on thePCB, provided it is positioned close to a PCB edge. Place the N2430GNSM parallel to, andcentered 3.0 mm away from the edge of the PCB. Performance is improved if Pin 1 is placed nocloser than 10 mm from the
